This is a new collection for the Healthy Meals Incentives Recognition Awards Application. The Recognition Awards will recognize school food authorities (SFAs) that have made significant improvements to the nutritional quality of their school meals by exceeding the transitional school meal pattern requirements, engaging students, and implementing innovative practices. SFAs can apply to one or more Recognition Awards included in the application form.
FNS issued regulation that prescribe the methods for making payments of funds to state agencies to use for administrative expenses incurred in overseeing and providing technical assistance in connection with activities undertaken under the NSLP, the SMP, the SBP, the CACFP, and the FDP. For this revision, FNS has revised the FNS-525 form to eliminate data fields which collect data that can be obtained from the FNS financial data systems.

This is an ongoing, voluntary information collection which is used by FNS to update the USDA National Hunger Clearinghouse. FNS collects information about the summer meal sites from state agencies using FNS-905. This form collects the site name, location, and operating details about the summer meal sites, such as dates and times of site operation.
We encourage our partners, schools and the community to share these graphics and messages on their social media platforms to help spread the word about the benefits of school lunch.
The purpose of this memorandum is to announce an additional $50 million in FY 2022 Equipment Assistance Grant funding above the $30 million announced in SP 14-2022. This additional funding, provided by ARPA, is being made available to state agencies in addition to the previously announced $30 million, to competitively award Equipment Assistance Subgrants to eligible SFAs participating in the NSLP.
The term "Alternate Protein Product" is the name used by FNS to identify products meeting requirements set forth in Appendix A of the NSLP, SBP, SFSP, and the CACFP within the section entitled Alternate Protein Products.
