FNS Nutrition Programs

Our mission is to increase food security and reduce hunger in partnership with cooperating organizations by providing children and people with low income access to food, a healthy diet, and nutrition education in a manner that supports American agriculture and inspires public confidence. No one in America should have to go hungry.

FNS works to end hunger and obesity through the administration of 16 federal nutrition assistance programs including WIC, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and school meals. In partnership with state and tribal governments, our programs serve one in four Americans during the course of a year.
