This is a new collection for the Healthy Meals Incentives Recognition Awards Application. The Recognition Awards will recognize school food authorities (SFAs) that have made significant improvements to the nutritional quality of their school meals by exceeding the transitional school meal pattern requirements, engaging students, and implementing innovative practices. SFAs can apply to one or more Recognition Awards included in the application form.

This request for approval of information collection is necessary to obtain input into the development of nutrition education interventions for population groups served by FNS. Collection of this information will increase FNS' ability to formulate nutrition education interventions that resonate with the intended target population, particularly low-income families.

USDA FNS is soliciting proposals from eligible Tribal Organizations to participate in a demonstration project to purchase agricultural commodities for FDPIR.

FNS of USDA is requesting emergency approval under the Paperwork Reduction Act to conduct a survey of school food authorities to collect information on the continued impacts of COVID-19-related supply chain disruptions on the child nutrition (CN) programs, as well as emerging challenges related to the transition back to standard school nutrition program operations.

This collection is a revision of a currently approved collection for state administrative expense funds expended in the operation of the child nutrition programs administered under the Child Nutrition Act of 1966.

This notice announces the national average value of donated foods or, where applicable, cash in lieu of donated foods, to be provided in school year 2023 for each lunch served by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program, and for each lunch and supper served by institutions participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

FNS has a number of non-entitlement discretionary grant programs to collect the information from grant applicants needed to evaluate and rank applicants and protect the integrity of the grantee selection process.

FNS uses the information to monitor state agency and SFA compliance, determine the amount of funds to be reimbursed, evaluate and adjust program operations, and to monitor program funding and program trends.

This agenda provides summary descriptions of significant and not significant regulations being developed in USDA agencies in conformance with Executive Orders “Regulatory Planning and Review” and “Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review.”
