Participants will learn how San Diego County successfully scaled its E&T program, identified and engaged new partners, and increased SNAP E&T reimbursement. Participants will learn to develop a SNAP E&T vision; integrate SNAP E&T with existing workforce services; identify and evaluate potential partner agencies; create a reimbursement methodology that accurately calculates the reimbursement and maximizes return; and build strong and lasting partnerships.

Due to the challenges of COVID-19, state SNAP agencies and E&T providers have had to reimagine how they can bring the same personal touch to a virtual environment. View this video to learn the techniques, challenges, and successes that three E&T programs have encountered as they shifted to virtual (and hybrid) case management.

The core principle of a SNAP E&T program is to help individuals build a better, more sustainable future for themselves and their families. In this session, two workforce development experts will highlight their training programs and explain how they were able to expand their national program model across multiple states, creating better lives for SNAP participants in the process.

This webinar focused on how career pathways can help SNAP participants upgrade their skills and advance to higher paying jobs by completing training and obtaining credentials in industries with strong employment opportunities. Webinar participants learned how SNAP E&T can integrate with career pathways programs to create expanded opportunities for SNAP participants, leverage other funding, and fill service gaps to increase impact. Participants heard from specific communities on how they have integrated SNAP E&T with career pathways to create opportunities for participants to obtain better jobs and increase earnings.

This webinar highlights some of the clarifications provided through the second round of Q&A’s released in May 2017, such as the suggested report template, national measures and component completion measures.

The webinar highlights the value and opportunity community and technical college partnerships and the role they can play in building robust, demand-driven SNAP E&T programs.  The webinar discusses key steps for understanding the local community college system and organizational structure and how to identify and utilize existing, available non-federal funds through the 50-50 third-party reimbursement model. The webinar is targeted to State agencies and community colleges.
