This request for approval of information collection is necessary to obtain input into the development of nutrition education interventions for population groups served by FNS. Collection of this information will increase FNS' ability to formulate nutrition education interventions that resonate with the intended target population, particularly low-income families.

Section 4022 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 authorized and funded the SNAP employment and training pilots and the evaluation. The four issue briefs present findings drawn from the evaluation of the 10 pilots. 

The WIC Food Cost-Containment Practices Study describes the voluntarily approaches state agencies used in 2018 to reduce food costs when selecting and authorizing WIC foods. This study is the second of its kind; the first was conducted by the USDA Economic Research Service in 2003. This report examines how six types of food cost-containment practices are associated with food costs and WIC participant satisfaction, benefit redemption, and food consumption in 12 state agencies. 

USDA FNS plans to collect additional information from grant applicants for the second round of TEFAP Reach and Resiliency Grant applications and add reporting questions on a biannual basis. This notice solicits public comment on the additional information proposed for collection.

FNS of USDA is requesting emergency approval under the Paperwork Reduction Act to conduct a survey of school food authorities to collect information on the continued impacts of COVID-19-related supply chain disruptions on the child nutrition (CN) programs, as well as emerging challenges related to the transition back to standard school nutrition program operations.

This information collection is for the Performance Reporting System and management evaluation processes, which ensure that SNAP state agencies are operating the program in accordance with statute and regulations.
