Through this rulemaking, FNS aims to improve the quality of race and ethnicity data collected and to ensure program benefits are distributed without regard to race, color, or national origin.
At this time, only certain states are operating with online purchasing capabilities. FNS is working with other states interested in expanding online purchasing.
This communication is intended to provide states with information about a change in the FNS accounting process for obligating SNAP funds.
The purpose of this memorandum is to advise state agencies on the steps the Food and Nutrition Service will take to monitor and engage state agencies with poor SNAP initial application processing timeliness rates.
This is a new collection for the contract Assessment of Mobile Technologies for Using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Benefits (Mobile Payment Pilot evaluation). The purpose of the Mobile Payment Pilot evaluation is to assess the effects of five pilot projects that will allow SNAP participants to use mobile payments to purchase food as an alternate option to a physical electronic benefit transfer card.
The LEP study will provide FNS with actionable insights about how states and territories operate language access policies and requirements. The study will gather detailed data from all 53 state SNAP agencies via a web-based survey, the three territories that operate NAP via in-depth interviews, and will conduct case studies in four states. The study will provide FNS with a comprehensive summary of findings on policies and practices related to LEP access.
FNS is committed to advancing equity and improving access to SNAP E&T nationwide and there are exciting efforts to advance equity happening at the state and provider levels.
This panel presentation, facilitated by the APHSA, highlights APHSA and its members commitment to advancing equity in human services, including through SNAP E&T.
This session will highlight best practices which emerged out of the pandemic to ensure the effective delivery of E&T services.
This presentation will highlight the enhanced partnership between SNAP E&T and the public workforce system to increase access to employment opportunities for this often marginalized and underserved population.
