Until then, Pandemic EBT will continue to be available for summer 2023. Families in participating states will typically receive a total of $120 per eligible child this summer.

Eligibility for 2023 Summer P-EBT

Households in participating states are eligible for summer 2023 P-EBT benefits if their child is:

  1. Automatically eligible for free or reduced price school meals without submitting a household application (e.g., directly certified through SNAP, TANF, foster care, etc.);
  2. Eligible for free or reduced price school meals through a household application; or
  3. Attended a school where every student eats school meals for free through participating in the Community Eligibility Provision, or Special Provision 2 or 3 in school year 2022-23..

Summer P-EBT benefits can be used to purchase:

  • fruits and vegetables
  • meat, poultry, and fish
  • dairy products
  • breads and cereals
  • other foods (such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages)

Summer P-EBT benefits cannot be used to purchase:

  • hot foods
  • pet foods
  • cleaning or household supplies
  • personal hygiene items
  • medicine
