This guidance updates previously issued Questions and Answers to clarify SFSP requirements. It supersedes SFSP 05-2017, Summer Food Service Program Questions and Answers, Dec. 1, 2016.

Webinar on transitional rule for state agencies & school food authorities.

The primary role for state agencies will be the distribution of funds to their  school food authorities (SFAs). State agencies will receive their allocation of SCA funds from FNS, and they will in turn disburse those funds to eligible SFAs based on FNS guidance

This guidance describes $1 billion being provided by FNS to enhance local school districts’ ability to purchase foods for school meals by offering resources needed to address supply chain challenges directly to schools and school districts.

This memorandum contains questions and answers intended to provide clarification to state and local agencies on child nutrition administrative reporting requirements in school year 2021-22. Topics covered include reporting of NSLP Seamless Summer Option meals and snacks reimbursed at the SFSP payment rates, as well as other COVID-19 related reporting issues.

 On August 26, FNS delivered a live webinar to state agencies and local program operators providing an overview of nationwide waivers for school year 2021-22. During the webinar, staff discussed scenarios where flexibilities may be utilized and suggestions for planning for the unexpected.  Lastly, resources were shared to further help state agencies and local program operators meet the unique needs of their community.
