The Child and Adult Care Food Program supports institutions wanting to initiate or improve food service in a variety of settings, including for adults receiving day care. CACFP reimburses centers that provide adult day services to help them serve nutritious meals to functionally impaired adults.
CACFP supports institutions that want to initiate or improve food service in a variety of settings, including adult daycare centers.
CACFP is a federally funded, state-administered program that provides aid to child and adult care centers and day care homes to serve nutritious foods that contribute to the health and wellness of young children and older and chronically impaired adults. CACFP provides nutritious meals and snacks to infants and children as a regular part of their day care. A variety of public or private nonprofit child care centers, Head Start programs, outside-school-hours care centers, and other institutions which are licensed or approved to provide day care services participate in CACFP. For-profit centers that serve lower income children may also be eligible.
