This memorandum provides Q&As related to the nationwide waivers released for school year 2021-22 and applies to state agencies administering, and local organizations operating, the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program and the NSLP Seamless Summer Option. 

This memorandum includes questions and answers to provide clarification to state agencies, emergency shelters, and emergency shelters that operate at-risk after school care centers regarding meals and snacks served to young adults in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

This memorandum provides guidance regarding reimbursement of meals and snacks served during the COVID-19 public health emergency by emergency shelters participating in CACFP under section 17 of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act.

This waiver extends the Nationwide Waiver of First Week Site Visits in the Summer Food Service Program – EXTENSION 2 – granted on Oct. 9, 2020, that expires on June 30, 2021– through Sept. 30, 2021. This waiver extension applies to the Summer Food Service Program.

This waiver extends the Nationwide Waiver to Allow Non-Congregate Feeding in the Summer Food Service Program and National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option granted on Oct. 9, 2020, that expires on June 30, 2021—through Sept. 30, 2021.

This waiver extends the Nationwide Waiver to Allow Offer Versus Serve Flexibilities in the Summer Food Service Program – EXTENSION 2 - granted on Oct. 9, 2020, that expires on June 30, 2021– through Sept. 30, 2021.

This waiver extends the Nationwide Waiver of Meal Service Time Restrictions in the Summer Food Service Program and the National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option - EXTENSION 2– granted on Oct. 9, 2020, that expires on June 30, 2021 – through Sept. 30, 2021.

FNS is extending a waiver of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program meal pattern requirements to support access to nutritious meals while minimizing potential exposure to the novel coronavirus (COVID–19) this summer.

This waiver extends the Nationwide Waiver to Allow Area Eligibility for Closed Enrolled Sites in the Summer Food Service Program and the National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option - EXTENSION 2 granted on Oct. 9, 2020, that expires on June 30, 2021- through Sept. 30, 2021. This waiver extension applies to the Summer Food Service Program and FNS is extending this flexibility to the National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option.
