Based on USDA’s re-evaluation, the Thrifty Food Plan is increasing by 21% and total national FY 2022 TEFAP entitlement food funding will increase by an estimated $57.75 million. We will be sharing additional details and final numbers after the budget is finalized.

This memorandum includes questions and answers to provide clarification to state agencies, emergency shelters, and emergency shelters that operate at-risk after school care centers regarding meals and snacks served to young adults in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 changes TEFAP state plan requirements and the TEFAP food funding formula.

The purpose of this memorandum is to revise guidance on the use of school and census data to establish area eligibility in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, the At-Risk Afterschool component of CACFP, the Summer Food Service Program, and the Seamless Summer Option of the National School Lunch Program.

Rates are adjusted annually each July, as required by the statutes and regulations governing CACFP

Three pieces of legislation currently govern the level of food and administrative resources available to TEFAP in FY 2013: the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008; the Emergency Food Assistance Act of 1983; and the Continuing Appropriations Resolution 2013 which provides funding in FY 2013 at a pro rata share of the FY 2012 funding level through March 27, 2013.

On March 19, 2012, FNS issued the memo titled Family Day Care Home Administrative Reimbursements: Options and Carryover Reporting Requirements, which described procedures for reporting fiscal year 2011 family day care home administrative payments and carryover. The present memo focuses on reporting family day care home carryover for FY 2012 and beyond.

This memo clarifies options regarding administrative reimbursements and provides guidance for FY 2011 on reporting and managing the unused administrative reimbursements FDCH sponsors may “carry over” into the next FY.

Two pieces of legislation currently govern the level of food and administrative resources available to TEFAP in FY 2012: the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 and the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act 2012, which provides funding through Sept. 30, 2012.

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide guidance on the implementation of this expansion in CACFP.
