FNS announces the release of Paid Lunch Price data for school year 2015-16. The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act and 7 CFR 210.14 (e)(7) require school food authorities (SFAs) to report their paid reimbursable lunch prices to the state agencies for publication by FNS each school year.
This memorandum announces the change in reporting procedures of paid lunch prices in school food authorities participating in the National School Lunch Program for School Year 2016-17. SFAs are expected to report the most frequently charged price for elementary, middle/junior high and high school levels to their state agency.
The purpose of this policy memorandum is to clarify the options available to state distributing agencies or recipient agencies in assigning value to USDA donated foods for audit purposes.
This memorandum consolidates the recent policy changes in the NSLP, SBP, and SFSP that affect the implementation of the Seamless Summer Option. This memorandum and its attachment supersede SP 37-2015, 2015 Edition of Questions and Answers for the National School Lunch Program’s Seamless Summer Option, May 22, 2015.
This memorandum addresses questions that state agencies have asked regarding school food authority wide fiscal action and assists state agencies in completing administrative reviews of SFAs.
This memorandum provides general guidance on the various procurement groups FNS has identified, how to use each group in a way that complies with federal procurement standards, and supersedes SP 35-2012, Procuring Services of Purchasing Cooperatives, Group Purchasing Organizations, Group Buying Organizations, etc., dated June 12, 2012.
The purpose of this memorandum is to announce the release of the first version of the “Model Functional Requirements for State School Meal Programs Information Systems” and “Model Functional Requirements for Local School Meal Programs Information Systems” tools.
On September 30, 2016, USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service issued new guidance describing the federal requirements state agencies and school food authorities must comply with in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs, with respect to indirect costs. This guidance reflects current cost principles in 2 CFR 200 Subpart E.
This policy memorandum includes important updates to requirements related to accommodating children with disabilities participating in the school meal programs.
FNS is issuing this memorandum to remind child nutrition program operators of the potable water requirement and to identify resources found in the attachment that can be used by schools and child care facilities in meeting this requirement.
