This is a reinstatement, with change, of a previously approved information collection that expired on Feb. 29, 2020. Due to statute, FNS is still legally required to collect the data in this information collection.

This notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on this information collection. This is a revision of a currently approved collection, which FNS employs to determine public participation in the School Breakfast Program.

As we enter tax filing season this year, I ask you to encourage all SNAP applicants and recipients to file taxes. Even if a family did not earn enough to be required to file taxes, they are eligible for the CTC and potentially thousands of additional dollars in benefits. Filing taxes will mean many families who are eligible for CTC will also get thousands of dollars in additional tax relief through the Earned Income Tax Credit.
