The purpose of this memorandum is to announce the implementation, effective Dec. 15, 2007, of the modifications to the TEFAP allocation formula that we proposed in the Federal Register notice published on Oct. 24, 2007.
Local educational agencies must verify applications in accordance with the procedures set forth in the above-cited memorandum. The above change will affect the reporting for Item 6 on the FNS-742, School Food Authority Verification Summary Report.

On Nov. 22, 2003, PL 108-134 was enacted. This law continues appropriations for the child nutrition programs and extends several provisions that were to expire on Nov. 21, 2003.
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide clarification on in-kind contributions, specifically, whether a state’s purchase of additional foods for distribution could be classified as an in-kind contribution.
