This notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on this proposed information collection. This is a revision of a currently approved collection for a web-based pre-screening tool used by the general public to determine potential eligibility for SNAP benefits.

This document announces approval of an information collection requirement regarding the final rule titled Eligibility, Certification, and Employment and Training Provisions of the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008.

These voluntary forms (SNAP-Ed Connection Recipe Submission and Review Forms) will be used by SNAP-Ed instructors, individuals/households (consumers from the general public), business (the private sector), USDA Food program operators, and other federal entities and state agencies (school nutrition experts, state agency nutrition programs) to submit recipes. 

This voluntary form will be used by SNAP Education (SNAP-Ed) instructors and nutrition education material developers to submit materials for review and possible inclusion in the SNAP-Ed Library (formerly known as the SNAP-Ed Connection Resource Finder).

This Notice announces the annual adjustments to the “national average payments,” the amount of money the Federal Government provides States for lunches, afterschool snacks, and breakfasts served to children participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs; to the “maximum reimbursement rates,” the maximum per lunch rate from Federal funds that a State can provide a school food authority for lunches served to children participating in the National School Lunch Program; and to the rate of reimbursement for a half-pint of milk served to non-needy children in a school or institution that participates in the Special Milk Program for Children.

The purpose of the SNAP-Ed Toolkit Intervention Submission Form and Scoring Tool is to provide a uniform and transparent method for submission, review, and scoring of nutrition education, physical activity promotion, and obesity prevention interventions for possible inclusion in the SNAP-Ed Strategies and Interventions: An Obesity Prevention Toolkit for States. 

This collection is a revision of currently approved information collection requirements associated with initiating collection actions against households who have received an overissuance in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

FNS is putting a stay on the effective date of the interim final provisions in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP): Eligibility, Certification, and Employment and Training Provisions of the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 final rule. The effective date will be delayed for 120 days to Oc. 5, 2017.

This notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on a new study to assess the effectiveness of the current formula used for state administrative expense allocations for child nutrition programs, identify and examine factors that influence state spending, and develop and test a range of possible alternatives to improve the SAE allocation formula.

State agencies must complete and maintain the FNS-245 for each negative case in their SNAP Quality Control (QC) sample. The FNS-245, Negative Case Action Review Schedule, is designed to collect QC data and serve as the data entry form for negative case action QC reviews in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
