This memo is inform FNS regional offices and state agencies of the release of the publication of the 2021-22 Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Income Eligibility Guidelines. The 2021-22 Income Eligibility Guidelines are used by state agencies in determining the income eligibility of persons applying to participate in SFMNP. These income eligibility guidelines are to be used in conjunction with the SFMNP regulations
This policy memorandum transmits the 2020-2021 Income Eligibility Guidelines for the Senior Farmers’ Market National Program.
This memorandum provides information about the availability of administrative flexibilities available to SFMNP state agencies under current regulations. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act did not provide additional flexibilities to SFMNP state agencies. Consequently, state agencies may only implement flexibilities permitted under current SFMNP regulations.
This information collection is requesting a revision to the previously approved burden hours due to program adjustments that primarily reflect expected changes in the number of SFMNP state agencies, individual/households (program recipients), and the number of farmers, farmers' markets, roadside stands, and CSA programs, from year to year.
The FNS is consolidating certain programmatic and financial data reporting requirements that are currently approved by the Office of Management and Budget, under the Food Programs Reporting System. The purpose is to give states and ITO agencies one portal for the various reporting required for the programs that the states and ITOs operate. The data collected is used for a variety of purposes; mainly program evaluation, planning, audits, funding, research, regulatory compliance and general statistics.
