The purpose of this memorandum is to provide additional guidance on the use of school and census data to establish area eligibility in CACFP, SFSP, and the Seamless Summer Option of the NSLP. In addition, this memorandum consolidates previous guidance and simplifies the area eligibility determination process to reduce administrative burdens on state agencies and program operators.
Template for Food Bank Memorandum of Agreement
School food authorities participating in the NSLP or SBP are eligible to apply for the Seamless Summer Option. Once approved through their governing state agency, SFAs serve meals free of charge to children, 18 years and under, from low-income areas.
This Act extends these simplified SFSP procedures to all sponsors in all states.
Kids still need good food, even when school is out. Now it’s easy to accommodate them!
