This rulemaking finalizes long-term school nutrition requirements based on the goals of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025, robust stakeholder input, and lessons learned from prior rulemakings.

FNS is conducting a study, Understanding Risk Assessment in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Payment Accuracy, to develop a comprehensive picture of whether and how SNAP state agencies use RA tools and determine if these tools create disparate impacts on protected classes. 

The purpose of the case management services is to guide E&T participants towards appropriate E&T components and activities based on the participant's needs and interests, to support the participant in the E&T program and to provide activities and resources that will assist the participant toward self-sufficiency.

This rulemaking proposes important modifications to make the application of serious deficiency procedures in the Child and Adult Care Food Program and Summer Food Service Program consistent, effective, and in line with current requirements under the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act. 

The Balanced Budget Act of 1997, modified the Employment and Training (E&T) Program so that states' efforts are now focused on a particular segment of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) population—able-bodied adults without dependents.

This notice invites the general public to comment on this proposed revision to the currently approved information collection for the SNAP-Ed Intervention Scoring Tool (FNS–885) and the SNAP Education Intervention Submission Form (FNS–886). 

The CN Labeling Program is designed to aid schools and institutions participating in the National School Lunch, School Breakfast Program, CACFP and Summer Food Service program by determining the contribution a commercial product makes toward the meal pattern requirements of these programs.

This collection, a revision of a currently approved collection, includes the requirement for case management services to individuals participating in the SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) program

USDA is issuing this notice of proposed rulemaking to improve SNAP's quality control system as required in the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. 

The Food and Nutrition Service is correcting a final rule that appeared in the Federal Register on Aug. 23, 2023.
