Reminder for SNAP retailers to protect SNAP customers from card skimming at their point of sale.

This request for approval of information collection is necessary to obtain input into the development of nutrition education interventions for population groups served by FNS. Collection of this information will increase FNS' ability to formulate nutrition education interventions that resonate with the intended target population, particularly low-income families.

Households in which members receive substantial lottery and gambling winnings are ineligible for SNAP until they meet allowable financial resources and income eligibility requirements. States are also required to work cooperatively with entities responsible for gaming in their state to identify individuals and households with substantial winnings. SNAP households must report substantial winnings to state SNAP agencies.

This notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on this proposed information collection for activities associated with administering emergency allotments (EA) waivers issued by USDA based on a public health emergency declaration by the Secretary of Health and Human Services related to an outbreak of COVID-19.

FNS is delaying the effective date for the interim final rule - SNAP: Requirement for Interstate Data Matching to Prevent Duplicate Issuances - until Dec. 6, 2022.

This information collection addresses the mandatory state agency information and burden estimates associated with the following state agency options under SNAP: establishing and reviewing standard utility allowances and establishing methodology for offsetting cost of producing self-employment income.
