In the summer of 2024, California and Oklahoma will begin issuing new SNAP EBT cards with Chip and Tap technology.
At this time, only certain states are operating with online purchasing capabilities. FNS is working with other states interested in expanding online purchasing.
This is a new collection for the contract Assessment of Mobile Technologies for Using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Benefits (Mobile Payment Pilot evaluation). The purpose of the Mobile Payment Pilot evaluation is to assess the effects of five pilot projects that will allow SNAP participants to use mobile payments to purchase food as an alternate option to a physical electronic benefit transfer card.
This is a new collection for the contract Rapid Cycle Evaluation of Operational Improvements in SNAP E&T programs. The purpose of SNAP E&T RCE is to test small-scale interventions in SNAP E&T operations or service delivery using RCE.
