The USDA, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) coordinates with State agencies, Tribal Nations, and voluntary organizations as they develop disaster nutrition assistance strategies before, during, and after disasters and emergencies.

USDA’s approach to tackling food and nutrition insecurity emphasizes equity to ensure our efforts serve all populations.

The Child Nutrition Labeling Manual provides food manufacturers with instructions on how to apply and obtain approval for a CN label. 

Team Nutrition has a variety of posters for schools, summer sites, and child care (centers, homes, and sponsors). When available, child nutrition program operators may request printed copies, while supplies last.

Through an examination of 5 disasters in 4 states, this study develops recommendations for best practices in planning for, implementing, and operating D-SNAP. 

This interactive webinar series highlights resources and materials that address hot topics in school meals. FNS regional offices, state agencies, school food authorities and others who may be interested are invited to participate.  

Team Nutrition staff and guest speakers from the Arizona Department of Education and Bellingham Public School, Washington shared strategies and success stories utilizing standardized recipes that incorporate cultural food preferences and locally grown foods. 

These resources provide school nutrition professionals with the knowledge and tools to implement and meet the professional standards requirements within their programs.
