The System Integrity Review Tool is a valuable instrument for both state agency and federal SNAP staff to evaluate whether a system meets SNAP functional requirements.

The attached questions and answers address the interim final rule, SNAP: Requirement for Interstate Data Matching to Prevent Duplicate Issuances, also known as the NAC interim final rule.

The Department set the QC tolerance threshold at $37 for fiscal year (FY) 2014 and adjusts the threshold each year following Section 3(u)(4) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, as amended. For FY 2019, the tolerance threshold is $37.

FNS is issuing this memorandum on the use of Electronic Benefit Transfer transaction data as evidence of an intentional program violation.

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 added a new Section 23 on Childhood Hunger Research to the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act. This section provides substantial new mandatory funding to research the causes and consequences of childhood hunger and to test innovative strategies to end child hunger and food insecurity.

This memorandum outlines the approach FNS will begin to take to work with state agencies as they request approval for new demonstration projects or renewal of existing projects, to ensure all active demonstration projects are testing innovative approaches with appropriate evaluations. 

The purpose of this demonstration project is to support the Census Bureau in recruitment and to assist SNAP clients in obtaining valuable work experience that may help lead to greater self-sufficiency.

This memo provides guidance to state agencies regarding the enactment of the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008. FSP announce its conclusion that the best approach to such projects, given the statutory authority, is to approve them as demonstration projects under Section 17 of the Food Stamp Act.

The purpose of this memorandum is to advise you of our decision to offer state agencies the opportunity to participate in a demonstration project to exclude the income of temporary census employees.
