The purpose of this memorandum is to extend to the at-risk afterschool component of the Child and Adult Care Food Program the flexibility to take certain food items offsite.

In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, this notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on this proposed information collection. This is a new collection for the Evaluation of the Direct Certification with Medicaid for Free and Reduced-Price Meals Demonstrations.

Included in the Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2001 is a provision requiring the Department of Defense to pay certain service members and their families a Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance so they will not have to rely on food stamps to make ends meet.
