This page displays product information sheets for USDA Foods available to households through the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Staff who operate USDA Foods programs and participants often use this information to help prepare healthy meals. Each product information sheet includes a description of the USDA Foods product, storage tips, nutrition facts, and recipes that use the product.
This memorandum provides the FY 2020 Cost-of-Living Adjustments to the SNAP maximum allotments, income eligibility standards and deductions. COLAs are effective as of Oct. 1, 2019.
The attached chart lists states that have issued a request for proposals. These states remain on the chart until either a new contract with the incumbent processor is in place, or until they convert to a new vendor.
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program works to improve the health of low-income elderly persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. Children who were certified and receiving CSFP benefits as of Feb. 6, 2014, can continue to receive assistance until they are no longer eligible under the program rules.
The National CSFP Association (NCSFPA) holds an annual conference where state and local agencies meet to discuss issues related to CSFP. During the conference, FNS updates program operators and stakeholders about program changes and initiatives, provides training to state and local program operators, builds partnerships, and obtains feedback on program-related issues.
This notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on this proposed information collection, a revision of a currently approved information collection for the Summer Food Service Program, which allows for the successful operation of SFSP.
The School Breakfast Program is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It began as a pilot project in 1966, and was made permanent in 1975. At the state level, the program is usually administered by state education agencies, which operate the program through agreements with local school food authorities in more than 78,000 schools and institutions.
This instruction establishes the general standards and procedures that the state distributing agency, Indian Tribal Organization, or other consignee must follow in receiving shipments of USDA Foods, and conveys established responsibilities for other entities such as USDA Foods vendors and carriers.
School meals are required to meet specific nutrition standards to operate the school meals programs. The standards align school meals with the latest nutrition science and the real world circumstances of America’s schools.
