This memorandum addresses questions recently raised by state agencies regarding the FNS requirement to apply fiscal action school food authority-wide and assists state agencies in completing administrative reviews of SFAs in school year 2016-17. 

This memorandum provides an overview of the redesign of the FNS-640 Administrative Review Report and provides information regarding FNS-640 instructions, system updates and upcoming activities. The FNS-640 is scheduled to be available in the Food Program Reporting System by January 2018.

This memorandum provides further clarification of the procedures for state agencies requesting additional fiscal year 2017 Child and Adult Care Food Program audit funding.

The final rule titled Administrative Reviews in the School Nutrition Programs was published on July 29, 2016. The Office of Management and Budget cleared the associated information collection requirements on Sept. 12, 2016. This document announces approval of the ICR.

This rule proposes to revise and clarify requirements for the processing of donated foods in order to: Incorporate successful processing options tested in demonstration projects, ensure accountability for donated foods provided for processing, and increase program efficiency.
