FNS is cancelling Policy Memoranda FD-010, FD-027, FD-028, FD-029, FD-032, FD-053, FD-055, FD-071, FD-073, FD-074, FD-083, FD-086, FD-087, FD-090, FD-105, and FD-115. The guidance provided by these memoranda are either outdated, obsolete, or otherwise captured in more current memoranda.

This memo establishes a nationwide waiver to support access to nutritious meals and snacks while minimizing potential exposure to COVID–19, in response to the COVID–19 Child Nutrition Response Act. This waiver applies to afterschool snacks in the National School Lunch Program and at-risk afterschool meals and snacks in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. 

Pursuant to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and based on the exceptional circumstances of this public health emergency, FNS is establishing a nationwide waiver to support access to nutritious meals while minimizing potential exposure to the novel coronavirus (COVID– 19).

In light of the exceptional circumstances of this public health emergency, FNS is granting a nationwide waiver  of onsite monitoring requirements for state agencies in the Child and Adult Care Food Program to help minimize potential exposure to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). 

In light of the exceptional circumstances of this public health emergency, FNS is granting a nationwide waiver of monitoring requirements for CACFP sponsors to help minimize potential exposure to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Attached are Q&As on the final rule Child Nutrition Programs: Flexibilities for Milk, Whole Grains, and Sodium Requirements (83 FR 63775, Dec. 12, 2018), which provides menu planning flexibilities in the child nutrition programs beginning July 1, 2019.

FNS is granting a nationwide waiver to help minimize potential exposure to COVID-19 for  state agencies administering Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Due to the exceptional circumstances of this public health emergency, USDA established a nationwide waiver to support access to nutritious meals while minimizing potential exposure to the novel coronavirus. This waiver applies to the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program and Child and Adult Care Food Program. This waiver remains in effect through Aug. 31, 2020.

This waiver allows schools and afterschool care centers to serve at-risk afterschool meals and snacks to students regardless of their location, through Dec. 31, 2020.

FNS is offering additional funds to state agencies administering the NSLP, School Breakfast Program, and CACFP to provide local operators of those programs with additional reimbursements for emergency operating costs they incurred during the public health emergency.
