FNS issued eight child nutrition programs off-site monitoring fact sheets to assist states and sponsors in conducting off-site monitoring of child nutrition programs during the pandemic. These documents include a fact sheet that has background information on all programs, as well as separate facts sheets for state and local operators for each program.

CACFP is a federally funded, state-administered program that provides aid to child and adult care centers and day care homes to serve nutritious foods that contribute to the health and wellness of young children and older and chronically impaired adults. This webinar is for states who are currently using, or are interested in applying for, the USDA DoD Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). We share tools and best practices to assist state agencies, SFSP sponsors, and SFSP sites in using their resources to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to SFSP participants during the summer months.  

CACFP funds are provided to assist state agencies through grants and other means to initiate and maintain nonprofit food service programs for eligible children and adult participants in nonresidential institutions that provide care. This Instruction establishes program standards, principles and guidelines for financial management.

This report summarizes the results of the Child Care Assessment Project (CCAP), which was undertaken by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) during the period 2004-2007.

The purpose of this policy memorandum is to clarify the responsibilities of the state administering agency and the state distributing agency with respect to ensuring compliance with requirements for donated foods in the National School Lunch Program, the Summer Food Service Program and the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
