This memorandum sets forth applicable parameters for implementation of the infant formula cost containment contracts and waiver authority legislative provisions, effective immediately. The provisions set forth in this policy memorandum will also be incorporated into the federal WIC regulations through future rulemaking.

This letter is in response to correspondence from WIC state agencies requesting program flexibility from WIC federal requirements as a result of the impact of the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic and the 2022 Abbott recall of certain powder infant formula and exempt infant formula on the nationwide supply chain leading to both periodic location- and product-based WIC infant formula and exempt infant formula shortages.

This letter is in response to correspondence from WIC state agencies requesting program flexibility with regard to medical documentation requirements in WIC, as a result of the impact of the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic and the 2022 Abbott recall of certain powder infant formula on the nationwide supply chain leading to both periodic location- and product-based WIC infant formula shortages.

This memo is addressed to TEFAP state agencies and provides final FY 2022 funding levels for TEFAP food and administrative grants under the full-year FY 2022 appropriations bill.

This memorandum provides return to the full issuance of eight units of vegetables or soup in CSFP food packages for May 2022 distributions and beyond.

This memorandum and attached chart, Attachment A, provide 2022 tentative caseload assignments for CSFP.  

This memorandum transmits the 2022 Income Guidelines for state agencies and Indian Tribal Organizations in determining the eligibility of individuals applying to participate in CSFP.
