This provision requires state agencies to certify whether participating SFAs are in compliance with meal requirements and, therefore, eligible to receive performance-based cash assistance for each reimbursable lunch served (an additional six cents per lunch, adjusted annually, available beginning Oct. 1, 2012).

This notice informs the public of the annual adjustments to the reimbursement rates for meals served in the Summer Food Service Program for children. 

This memorandum provides guidance to state agencies on the allowable use of program funds for additional foods served in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).

The purpose of this memo is to clarify the simplified application procedures currently available to experienced SFSP sponsors and sites in good standing and to describe simplified application procedures now available to experienced CACFP institutions in good standing who wish to apply for participation in SFSP.

Notice is hereby given that the national average minimum value of donated foods, or cash in lieu thereof, per lunch under the NSLP (7 CFR Part 210) and per lunch and supper under the CACFP (7 CFR Part 226) shall be 22.25 cents for the period July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.

This Notice announces the annual adjustments to the "national average payments,'' the amount of money the federal government provides states for lunches, afterschool snacks and breakfasts served to children participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs; to the "maximum reimbursement rates,'' the maximum per lunch rate from federal funds that a state can provide a school food authority for lunches served to children participating in the National School Lunch Program; and to the rate of reimbursement for a half-pint of milk served to non-needy children in a school or institution which participates in the Special Milk Program for Children.

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide guidance describing the federal requirements state agencies and school food authorities must comply with in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program with respect to indirect costs.

This final rule incorporates into the regulations governing the programs authorized under the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (NSLA) and the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 (CNA) two nondiscretionary provisions of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFK Act).

This memorandum is intended to highlight flexibilities that already exist at the state level to simplify and improve the delivery of nutrition assistance to low-income children during the summer months through the Summer Food Service Program.
