Resource | Reimbursement Rates CACFP: National Average Payment Rates, Day Care Home Food Service Payment Rates, and Administrative Reimbursement Rates for Sponsoring Organizations of Day Care Homes (July 1, 2010 -June 30, 2011)

This notice announces the annual adjustments to the national average payment rates for meals and snacks served in child care centers, outside-school-hours care centers, at-risk afterschool care centers, and adult day care centers; the food service payment rates for meals and snacks served in day care homes; and the administrative reimbursement rates for sponsoring organizations of day care homes, to reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index.

Resource | Notices Food Distribution Program: Value of Donated Foods (July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011)

This notice announces the national average value of donated foods or, where applicable, cash in lieu of donated foods, to be provided in school year 2011 (July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011) for each lunch served by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and for each lunch and supper served by institutions participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

This is a reminder of the statutory and regulatory requirements for categorical eligibility for the Child Nutrition Programs based on receipt of benefits from each state’s Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program. The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act restricts categorical eligibility to those TANF programs with standards that are comparable to or more restrictive than those in effect on June 1, 1995.

Reallocation is the process by which state agencies (SAs) can request additional CACFP audit funds above their initial authorized funding level. Resource | Policy Memos Accommodations for Non-Traditional Program Operators

In response to the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 directive to examine the feasibility of reducing program paperwork and recordkeeping requirements, FNS convened a paperwork reduction work group of CACFP stakeholders. While the work group sought to identify opportunities to reduce paperwork for all CACFP institutions and facilities, providing relief to “non-traditional” facilities, especially emergency shelters, was a priority recommendation.
