The purpose of this memorandum is to remind state agencies that administer the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children of the federal WIC statutory and regulatory requirements for the authorization, issuance and rebate of infant formula in the WIC food packages.
We are encouraging all WIC state agencies to add the Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General hotline website to all WIC food instruments or their accompanying folders or sleeves.
The purpose of this policy memorandum is to provide clarification regarding the income eligibility determination and documentation requirements necessary for participation in WIC.
The Department announces adjusted income eligibility guidelines to be used by state agencies in determining the income eligibility of persons applying to participate in the WIC program. These income eligibility guidelines are to be used in conjunction with the WIC regulations.
