The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 requires USDA to establish nutrition standards for all foods sold in schools — beyond the federally supported meals programs. This new rule carefully balances science-based nutrition guidelines with practical and flexible solutions to promote healthier eating on campus.

Many Americans living in poverty do not have access to healthy food at a reasonable price, compelling them to make unhealthy food choices. The goal of SNAP is to increase food security and access to a healthy diet among low-income households. 

As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, this notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on the proposed information collection for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program's Regulations, Part 275--Quality Control.
