This is a revision of a currently approved collection for the Food Programs Reporting System. The purpose of FPRS is to enable data gathering for the reporting of data related to FNS programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

This document contains a correction to an interim final rule published in the Federal Register on Aug.  13, 2021. The rule codifies statutory requirements enacted by the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. This document also extends the comment period for the interim final rule.

This memorandum provides the federal FY 2022 Cost-of-Living Adjustments to the SNAP maximum allotments for the 48 contiguous states and D.C., Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, COLAs are effective as of Oct. 1, 2021.

USDA is issuing this interim final rule to strengthen and improve the integrity and accuracy of the SNAP Quality Control system by codifying statutory requirements enacted by the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 that was signed into law on Dec. 20, 2018.

Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 providing support for American families, state governments, and communities to rebuild lives and respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. This letter discusses important opportunities to support low-income families by advising them of the Child Tax Credit.

FNS expects virtual Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program operations may be needed through the remainder of FY 2021 and 2022. FNS will continue to review requests to use virtual operations on a case-by-case basis when a state submits a D-SNAP waiver request. States are encouraged to use the attached best practices for any future virtual D-SNAPs.

This interim final rule delays the implementation date of certain provisions of the final rule entitled, “Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP): 2008 Farm Bill Provisions on Clarification of Split Issuance; Accrual of Benefits and Definition Changes.”

This notice invites the public to comment on a new collection for: (1) documenting the policies and guidelines used for making fitness for work determinations; (2) describing the process state agencies use for making fitness for work determinations; (3) determining any general patterns and trends in fitness for work and good cause determinations within and across four case study states; and (4) determining how closely caseworkers follow the states' fitness for work and good cause determination policies.

This final rule removes from the Code of Federal Regulations the final rule published on Dec. 5, 2019, titled “Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Requirements for Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents.” This action responds to a decision of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia that vacated the rule.
