FNS is allowing states to permit schools that were conducting a Provision 2 base year in SY 2019-2020 to develop their claiming percentage using data collected before schools closed in response to the coronavirus.
FNS is extending of four previous nationwide waivers of onsite monitoring requirements in the school meals programs, Summer Food Service Program, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program and announced one new nationwide waiver of onsite monitoring requirements for sponsors in CACFP.
This extension of Nationwide Waiver of Onsite Monitoring Requirements in the School Meals Programs – Extension, issued June 8, 2020 to waive the requirements until Aug. 31, 2020 applies to the NSLP and the School Breakfast Program. The onsite monitoring portion of this waiver remains in effect through June 30, 2021.
