This memo is written in response to a number of concerns brought to our attention by state agencies regarding school food authorities in contracts with food service management companies that allow the FSMC to charge a fixed fee to the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.
The purpose of this memorandum is to assist Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) state agencies in determining applicable health and safety standards for outside-school-hours care centers (OSHCC) and at-risk afterschool care centers and documenting compliance with those standards, if applicable.
In proposed rule document 2012-4181 appearing on pages 10981-10997 in the issue of Feb. 24, 2012, make the following correction:
This proposed rule would establish the basic requirements for the operation of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) in conformance with the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act. It would set forth administrative and operational requirements for FFVP operators at the state and local levels.
