FNS issued eight child nutrition programs off-site monitoring fact sheets to assist states and sponsors in conducting off-site monitoring of child nutrition programs during the pandemic. These documents include a fact sheet that has background information on all programs, as well as separate facts sheets for state and local operators for each program.

CACFP is a federally funded, state-administered program that provides aid to child and adult care centers and day care homes to serve nutritious foods that contribute to the health and wellness of young children and older and chronically impaired adults. Find out more about the adult care component of CACFP and see if your organization can participate! 

In early 2020, programs began to implement the enhanced CSFP food package that includes more variety, flexibility, and healthier food options. This webinar focuses on the food package enhancements and how to successfully manage inventory to adjust for client preferences, logistical challenges, and inventory shortfalls. We provide an overview of the new foods that have improved the food package and review the inventory ordering tool to help states and local agencies adjust to changing needs based on client feedback.

The nutrition educator from the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians in Wisconsin has compiled a cookbook containing healthy recipes that utilize USDA Foods found in the FDPIR food package.
