Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
The state will contact households who previously reported theft and you have 90 calendar days after notice to submit a retroactive claim. Other households will have 90 calendar days after the state has started their plan (June 16, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 90 calendar days of theft date. Submit claims by mail, fax, email, or in-person at local offices (physical signatures only). The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 30 calendar days after claim submission. You must replace your card.

Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Aug. 1, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 30 calendar days of discovering and submit a claim form within 10 calendar days after the report. Report theft and submit claim forms by phone, mail, email, fax, or in-person at local offices. The state has 30 calendar days after initial report to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued the day following claim approval. You must replace your card.
