Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households that previously notified the state will receive a letter, and have 30 days to file a retroactive claim. Other households will have 30 days after the state publishes information about the replacement of stolen benefits process to file a retroactive claim. Report theft within 10 calendar days of discovering and submit a claim form within 10 more calendar days. Report theft by phone, email, mail, fax, or in-person at local offices. Submit claims by mail, fax, email, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days after date of theft report, or date of claim submission (whichever is later) to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 calendar days after date of report of loss or date of claim submission (whichever is later). You must replace your card.

Households have 90 calendar days after the state has started their plan (July 1, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 30 calendar days of discovering and submit a claim form within 10 business days after the report. Report theft by mail, email, phone, or in-person at local offices. Submit claims in-person at local offices (reasonable accommodations made to capture a valid signature). The state has 10 business days after submission to validate the claim. 10 more business days will be given for exception. Extensions will not exceed 30 calendar days after claim submission.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 2 days after claim approval. You must replace your card.
