General recommendations are provided for handwashing, cleaning, and disinfecting. The information on these fact sheets has been consolidated from the Centers from Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Program operators should always follow their state, tribal, and local public health department code requirements.

USDA Foods program operators can distribute these factsheets to program staff or display them in the program office or warehouse as a reminder of best practices.
