Updated Poverty Income Guidelines

The US Department of Health and Human services published its annual update of poverty income guidelines in the Federal Register of January 24, 2006.

See the link below. http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/06poverty.shtml These revised guidelines are NOT effective immediately for the Food Stamp Program. As required under the Food Stamp Act, the revised guidelines are not effective until Oct. 1, 2006.

FNS will continue its usual practice of publishing the revised income eligibility guidelines at the same time the new allotment levels are announced.
