Your SNAP permit is valid only for the location and owners on record with the USDA, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The location and owners on record are listed on your SNAP permit.
- You are violating the rules and subject to significant penalties if you:
- Accept SNAP at a location that has not been SNAP authorized;
- allow a new owner to use your SNAP permit; and/or
- allow other locations or owners to accept SNAP under your SNAP permit.
- A SNAP permit is only valid at the single location on record at FNS.
- Are you are using your SNAP permit at locations other than the one listed on your permit? Then stop accepting SNAP immediately and file an application for the alternate location(s).
- Each store location must be SNAP authorized. If you open a new location, you must apply and be eligible for a SNAP permit for that location. Apply for any new location(s).
- If you sell your store, the new owner may NOT use your SNAP permit. A new owner must file an application.
- At any time, your store may receive an unannounced visit to collect data and take pictures of the business. FNS uses this information to confirm your store’s SNAP eligibility.
- The person collecting this information on behalf of FNS will have identification and a letter of introduction.
