On May 8, 2026, we published the final rule, Updated Staple Food Stocking Standards for Retailers in SNAP. The rule makes several changes to retailer stocking requirements that retailers must comply with starting on Nov. 4, 2026. We will update the retailer training webpage with guidance soon, and update the information on this page, as appropriate.
On Dec. 15, 2016, we published Enhancing Retailer Standards in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a final rule that revised stocking requirements for stores. This webinar presents those requirements, as modified by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017. The requirements are effective Jan. 17, 2018.
