SUBJECT: | Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - Revised Allotments for Hawaii for Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 |
TO: | All Regional Directors Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program |
The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is adjusting the State of Hawaii's maximum and minimum Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program allotments for fiscal year (FY) 2013, due to recent updates in the state's Thrifty Food Plan (TFP). FNS initially anticipated that the maximum and minimum allotments for the state of Hawaii would remain unchanged for FY 2013 due to the provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), which raised maximum allotments by 13.6 percent of the June 2008, value of the TFP. Since the TFP data was updated for Hawaii, FNS subsequently made adjustments to the state's maximum allotments as follows:
REVISED MAXIMUM ALLOTMENTS - HAWAII OCTOBER 2012 TO SEPTEMBER 2013
Household Size | Hawaii |
---|---|
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 |
$319 $585 $839 $1,065 $1,265 $1,518 $1,678 $1,917 |
Add on | $240 |
As a result of the TFP update for Hawaii, the maximum allotment for a household size of four residing in Hawaii increased by $19, from $1046 under ARRA to $1065. In addition, the minimum allotment for Hawaii for household sizes 1-2 increased from $25 to $26. These revised maximum and minimum allotment figures for Hawaii are in effect as of Oct. 1, 2012. All other figures in our Aug. 3, 2012, memorandum transmitting the FY 2013 cost-of-living adjustments are unchanged and are also in effect Oct. 1, 2012.
State agencies with questions regarding these adjustments should contact their respective regional office representatives.
