The Emergency Food Assistance Program Farm to Food Bank Project Grants
The purpose of Farm to Food Bank Projects is to (a) reduce food waste at the agricultural production, processing, or distribution level through the donation of food, (b) provide food to individuals in need, and (c) build relationships between agricultural producers, processors, and distributors and emergency feeding organizations through the donation of food.

FY 2021 Farm to Food Bank Project Summaries
During the second year of Farm to Food Bank Project funding, FNS allocated $3.764 million to 24 TEFAP state agencies that submitted plans to implement Farm to Food Bank Projects. Seventeen of those states received FY 2020 funding and seven are newly participating states. The 24 state agencies that received an award are identified in this resource.
2014 Farm Bill Pilot Projects
The 2014 Farm Bill authorized up to $200 million for the development, implementation, and evaluation of up to 10 pilot projects designed to reduce dependency and increase work effort under SNAP. These pilots will give USDA and states the opportunity to build on existing SNAP E&T programs and test new strategies to determine the most effective ways to help SNAP recipients gain and retain employment that leads to self-sufficiency.

Pilot Project for Procurement of Unprocessed Fruits and Vegetables
The pilot project provides SDAs selected states additional flexibility in the procurement of unprocessed fruits and vegetables. SFAs in selected states, or SDAs acting on behalf of participating SFAs, are permitted to competitively solicit a USDA-approved vendor using USDA Foods NSLP entitlement funds.
Evaluation of SNAP Employment and Training Pilots: FY 2019 Annual Report to Congress
Section 4022 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 authorized and funded the SNAP E&T pilots, which enabled the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) and States to expand SNAP E&T programs and test innovative strategies to connect SNAP participants with good-paying jobs, thereby increasing their incomes and reducing the need for nutrition assistance benefits. This is the fifth annual report to Congress.
