Based on USDA’s re-evaluation, the Thrifty Food Plan is increasing by 21% and total national FY 2022 TEFAP entitlement food funding will increase by an estimated $57.75 million. We will be sharing additional details and final numbers after the budget is finalized.

Resource | Grants FY 2021 Cohort B Team Nutrition Training Grants for School Meal Recipe Development

FNS awarded an additional almost $1.4 million in FY 2021 Team Nutrition Training Grants to six states. These grants will help schools offer meals supported by recipes that use local agricultural products and reflect local food preparation practices and taste preferences.

This memorandum provides the federal FY 2022 Cost-of-Living Adjustments to the SNAP maximum allotments for the 48 contiguous states and D.C., Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, COLAs are effective as of Oct. 1, 2021.

On Aug. 13, 2021, FNS awarded approximately $2.5 million in SNAP Fraud Framework Implementation Grants to support state agency efforts to improve and expand recipient fraud prevention, detection, and investigation efforts using the procedures, ideas and practices outlined in the SNAP Fraud Framework.
