School Breakfast Program: Severe Need Assistance

This rule amends the School Breakfast Program (SBP) regulations to eliminate the requirement that a school's costs exceed the rate of reimbursement as a criterion for receiving the higher severe need funding available in the SBP.

Interim Rule: School Food Safety Inspections - Confirmation of Effective Date

The provisions of the interim rule entitled School Food Safety Inspections published on June 15, 2005, at 70 FR 34627, could not become effective until approval of the associated information collection requirements by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Those requirements were cleared by OMB on August 26, 2005 under OMB Control Number 0584-0006. This document announces the effective date of the information collection provisions contained in the originally-published rule.

National School Lunch, Special Milk, and School Breakfast Programs: National Average Payments/Maximum Reimbursement Rates (July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006)

This Notice announces the annual adjustments to the “national average payments,” to the “maximum reimbursement rates,”  and to the rate of reimbursement for a halfπpint of milk served to nonneedy children in a school or institution which participates in the Special Milk Program for Children.

Interim Rule: School Food Safety Inspections

This interim rule reflects amendments made by section 111 of the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 which require schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to increase the number of food safety inspections from the one inspection currently required to two inspections per year; to post the most recent inspection report in a visible location; and to release a copy of the report to members of the public upon request.
