The purpose of this Request for Information is to help FNS gather feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders on how FNS' crediting system can best address today's evolving food and nutrition environment, as well as to offer first-rate customer service to those operating and benefitting from the child nutrition programs.

The primary purpose of this study is to provide FNS with information about the effectiveness of the Independent Review of Applications requirement that is conducted by local educational agencies in the school meal programs identified by the state agency as demonstrating high levels of, or a high risk for, administrative error in the certification of free and reduced price applications.

This Notice announces the annual adjustments to the “national average payments,” the amount of money the Federal Government provides States for lunches, afterschool snacks, and breakfasts served to children participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs; to the “maximum reimbursement rates,” the maximum per lunch rate from Federal funds that a State can provide a school food authority for lunches served to children participating in the National School Lunch Program; and to the rate of reimbursement for a half-pint of milk served to non-needy children in a school or institution that participates in the Special Milk Program for Children.

Resource | Comment Request Comment Request - Follow Up to An Assessment of the Roles and Effectiveness of Community-based Organizations in SNAP

The authority for this collection is provided for in the Child Nutrition Act of 1966. As required, FNS issued regulations which prescribes the methods for making payments of funds to state agencies to use for administrative expenses incurred in supervising and giving technical assistance in connection with activities undertaken by them under the National School Lunch Program, the Special Milk Program, the School Breakfast Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program  and the food distribution program.
