This memorandum includes questions and answers intended to provide clarification to state agencies and program operators that participate or intend to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision during regular National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program operations.
The Community Eligibility Provision is a meal service option for local educational agencies and schools in high-poverty areas. CEP allows participating LEAs and schools to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without the burden of collecting household applications.
