The SNAP COVID study will provide information about state SNAP agencies' experiences with the wide range and mix of operational changes made in response to the evolving pandemic.
The federal regulations governing the WIC program require that certain program-related information be collected and that full and complete records concerning WIC operations are maintained.
The USDA proposed to make changes to the SNAP's Quality Control system to strengthen and improve the integrity and accuracy of the system and to better align SNAP QC with requirements in the Payment Integrity Information Act of 2019. This notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on this proposed revision to the currently approved information collection for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) form FNS–889, “SNAP Education (SNAP-Ed) Connection Resource Sharing Form.”
This information collection is requesting a revision in the burden hours due to program changes resulting from FMNP state agencies transitioning from paper coupon systems to electronic benefit systems, as well as one existing requirement that has been in use without PRA approval.
The information collected will be used to evaluate components of existing breastfeeding programs and support within WIC local agencies, to recognize local WIC agencies that provide exemplary breastfeeding programs and support services, and to provide examples of model programs to motivate local agencies and clinics to strengthen their breastfeeding promotion and support activities.
FNS is interested in exploring how state agencies define and measure the quality of customer service for SNAP applicants and participants, particularly strategies that go beyond the minimum requirements set by FNS.
