The Child and Adult Care Food Program supports institutions wanting to initiate or improve food service in a variety of settings, including for adults receiving day care. CACFP reimburses centers that provide adult day services to help them serve nutritious meals to functionally impaired adults.

Resource | Federal Register Documents Generic Clearance for Stakeholder Feedback and Surveys as Part of FNS Planning

The purpose of this new collection is to collect qualitative and quantitative stakeholder feedback through meetings, focus groups, interviews, other stakeholder interactions and surveys, as well as requests for administrative data, as part of the planning process for FNS regulatory actions, the semi-annual regulatory agenda, research studies, outreach, training and the development of guidance.

Resource | Fact Sheets Off-site Monitoring Fact Sheets for Child Nutrition Programs

FNS issued eight child nutrition programs off-site monitoring fact sheets to assist states and sponsors in conducting off-site monitoring of child nutrition programs during the pandemic. These documents include a fact sheet that has background information on all programs, as well as separate facts sheets for state and local operators for each program.

CACFP provides nutritious meals and snacks to infants and children as a regular part of their day care. A variety of public or private nonprofit child care centers, Head Start programs, outside-school-hours care centers, and other institutions which are licensed or approved to provide day care services participate in CACFP. For-profit centers that serve lower income children may also be eligible.
